...... as mentioned we love movies and therefore it was always our dream to have our own home cinema... and in late 2003 that dream became a reality.

Why? Well we sold our house and made a little profit, thought we might as well do something with it we / others could enjoy. And so our mini-plex was born.

What specs is it? It's a stand alone gaming / cinema room. The Cinema consists of an 8' owl electric screen (so you can have the screen down or up), a Sanyo Z1 ceiling mounted projector, a mirage speaker pack (all wall mounted except the subwoofer obviously).... a NAD T752 amp receiver (dts ES / Dolby PLII), Sky+ and of course a multi region dvd player (and two Xbox consoles).

NOTE:
We redecorated our Home Cinema in 2005 - Cinema Conversion Link.
The pictures on this page below this are what it originally looked like before the conversion, we leave it here for memory sake.

The screen area!

Well here it is the main screen, To the left is the bar area but since we barely drink we've made it into a cinema snackbar type thing.

Mounted on the wall beneath the screen are some classic film pictures. These were originally bought for behind the screen but were too wide, so rather than waste the, there they are.

Here is the snackbar area. a little hard to see but you get the idea. Lots of sweets for when the kids are over (oh yeah sure they're for the kids hehe). It also houses all our games. Hanging from the bar itself are two Ltd. Edition master replica lightsabers (one of us is a star wars fan).

Sorry about the flash in that shot. Doh!

You can't enjoy a home cinema without a good movie collection, so here's ours as of Feb 2004. We think it's around 500 or so not including boxed sets. Collection listed HERE

The 32" WS TV is for secondary console gaming as we also play the xbox on the cinema screen, which is awesome!

And here is a little wall of Tomb Raider guff including the uber-cool leather backpack from paramount which was given to us by the handsomest man in LA!! Steve you snag you know it's true!

April.2005 - Home Cinema Makeover - COMPLETE!!!!!!
Finally it's done and we've got pictures to prove it so here's the link to OUR NEW CINEMA ROOM.

March.2005 - Home Cinema Makeover!
We were never that happy with the way things looked since we both prefer a much more modern look so we're very shortly going to be completely redoing our home cinema with a more loft apartment feel starting with new downlighting, wooden floors, removal of the snack bar and over bar area and boxing in DVD and Games collections for a cleaner look and feel. As soon as it's finished we'll pop some updated pictures right here.
As things stand at present the paint work has changed from that god awful peach to a blue grey color.

Oct.2003 - Home Cinema Installed
After selling our house we'd made a little profit and what were we going to spend it on? Why something we'd always wanted of course... our own home cinema in the new house! As of Feb 2004 theres still a few things on the snag list that the store we bought this from haven't dealt with as yet.. but we're assure it's all in hand.
